How To Use Your Digi File

With this tutorial I will be teaching you how to resize your images.  If you would like to alter your images by resizing, erasing lines or adding text or color please visit the How To Use Your Digi Files Paint  tutorial.  Most computers come standard with this program so you should be able to follow along.

The easiest way I have found to use my digi stamps is with Microsoft Office Word.  Currently I am using Windows Vista so I will be explaining the process to you with these programs.  If you have other programs such as Windows XP, Windows 7 etc.. the process should be somewhat similar.  For those of you using a MAC you should still be able to follow along.  You can always use other programs as well.  If you need help with another program please contact me at totallystampalicious@gmail.com and I will be glad to help you out.

Our Digi stamps are high quality .jpg files.  Please feel free to contact me if you need a different file type and I will be glad to email it to you.

You will receive your Digi stamp file as a zipped file attached in an email.  Please see following picture.  I used my gmail account so your email may look a little different however you should be able to view the attachment in a similar way.

Click on your attachment and choose to save it.  As shown in the picture below.

Your computer will now ask you where you want the file to be saved.  As you can see I have chosen to save it under my documents.  Always remember where you save your files so that you can retrieve them.  Once you have decided where your file will go click on the save button.

You now need to go to where you saved your file.  As you can see it is a zipped document.  Basically a zipped document is just a document that is compressed smaller so it does not take as long to email.  This does not affect the quality of the digi images.

With your mouse right click on the zipped file and choose "Extract All".  When this screen pops up press the "Extract" button.

Your file is now ready to use and looks just like all your other files.  Remember where your files are located as you will need to be able to find them in your editing software.  My file as you can see is located in user/documents/glam_kitty

Open up Microsoft Office Word and click on the Insert tab located on the top beside the home tab.  You will then need to click on the "Picture" button to insert your desired digi stamp.  Go to where you saved your file and choose your digi stamp by double clicking it.  See the picture below.

Now that your image is selected and inserted into your document you can resize it using the boxes around the edge of the image or by choosing your size in the size box at the top right hand corner of the screen.  If you choose to resize it using the boxes around the image I only use the four corner boxes to resize so it keeps the aspect ratio the same and the image does not get distorted.
