Paint Digi Tutorial

For those of you who don't have programs such as Microsoft Office Word I have created this tutorial to use your digi stamps with your paint program.  Most computers come standard with this program so hopefully you will find this tutorial helpful!

To begin you need to click on your start button.  Click on "all programs" and then look for your "accessories" file.  Click on your "accessories" file and there you should find the program called "paint".  Please refer to the picture below.

Once you have found this program please click on "paint" to open it.  You will now need to click on "file" and then click on "open".  Go to where you have your digi stamp saved and select it by either double clicking on it or click once on the image and then click on "open".  For this example I have opened my Road Hawg digi stamp.

As you can see this image is quite large and I want it to be smaller to fit on my project.  If you choose the "image" tab at the top of the screen it will give you the option to flip, rotate, and resize your image.  For this tutorial I am going to choose the resize option.

When resizing the image you must make sure that you change both the horizontal percentage and the vertical percentage to the same otherwise your image will become distorted.  For this tutorial I will resize my image to 40%.  Once you have changed both horizontal and vertical percentages click the "OK" button.

Your image is now ready to be printed.  Make sure that whenever you print you always use your print preview option so that you know exactly how your image will print.  This should save you from mistakes and wasting cardstock.

Make sure to play with all of the other options within this program as you will be able to alter your images to suit your needs.  Try using the eraser tool.  On this Betty Boop card that I made I used the eraser tool on the Road Hawgs Symbol, took out the words "Pork Chopper", used the word box to write in the words "Betty Boop".  Voila, I now have a customized symbol for my Betty Boop card!  You can also color your images before printing them, flip them, rotate them, resize, skew and whatever else your imagination can come up with.
